Caltec Technology

Caltec solutions are based on a small number of core components where Caltec is either the owner of the technology or a world leader in the field. The specific application of these is then custom-designed for the particular solution to the client's operational need.

The I-SEP™ is a patented, compact*, in-line separation device used as the underlying technology in a number of solutions, with its specific design customized for that solution (e.g. de-gassing, solid-liquid separation, multi-phase boosting).

Working in-line with the process, at operating pressure, the I-SEP offers a step change in the technology of separation of gas from liquid, dissolved gas, and solids from liquid.

Caltec specialises in Jet Pump technology for gas, liquid and multiphase applications. Also known as ejectors or eductors, jet pumps utilise energy from a high pressure (HP) fluid to boost the pressure of a low pressure fluid. In oil and gas production this leads to an increase in production and total recovery from low pressure fields.

Caltec has also developed and patented a system, Trade Mark Registered as WELLCOM employing one or more jet pumps for handling multiphase flow.

Caltec's purpose designed software facilitates the design of customised jet pumps and multiphase boosting systems, essential for the oil and gas industry.

Caltec's core technology I-SEP and jet pumps both have no moving parts, and thus are inherently reliable, and require very little maintenance.

*Compact - a typical 3000 barrels per day I-SEP for removing solids from liquid has a footprint of approx 35cm x 35cm - some 50 times smaller than a conventional gravity separator
