Vent Gas Recovery

Caltec Surface Jet Pump (SJP) systems are cost effective solutions, which can be used to recover otherwise lost Vent Gas and protect against the over-pressurisation of oil storage tanks. Vent gas, other than being an environmental concern also presents a fire hazard to the immediate vicinity if cold vented. Caltec’s SJP gas uses either High Pressure (HP) gas or liquid to recover the gas that would either be directly vented or sent to flare, and either discharges it back into the production system or is used as fuel. Preventing venting of LP gas and boosting it to a higher pressure for utilisation, has both environmental and commercial benefits.
